覺性

弟子:如何在平時保持覺性?

和尚:如果你要練習覺性,試著在內心創造不同層次的平靜。否則,覺性只是空想。在你練習打坐一個小時之後,你會達到某種程度的平靜。你帶著平靜,但平靜會漸漸消失。為什麼平靜會消失呢?因為你的我執又出現了。因為你開始走路並跟人說話,這就是為什麼平靜開始減少了。你需要回復平靜,否則覺性或保持覺性的意義何在?如果你的平靜降低到了這個程度,那麼「保持覺性」就只有這麼點大。繼續用功,用功才能達到完美。

    Yes I think we need lots of reminders to stay calm and mindful. Otherwise we revert to habitual tendencies and forget to stay calm and peaceful. Thanks for sharing and reminding!

      Indeed. Everyone of us needs reminders from either self or from others. “Keep practice" as mentioned by Master will help a lot. And once calmness increases, you are able to see more “reality."
